The WSDCPC Lunch Bag Learning sessions are starting back up again in September. Starting on September 15th noon to one pm at the Rapid City Public Library in the Hoyt Room. September's session is Military Deployments, Traumatic Stress, and Resilience. Lee Sasse will be talking about common deployment stressors, traumatic stress reactions, and how training before and after deployment reduces the negative impacts on duty members, co-workers, and their family. This is helpful information for the general public and civilian providers who work with clients that are active duty. See attached flyer for further details. Free training hosted by the South Park UCC Church and the Rapid City Suicide Prevention Taskforce. safeTALK is a training that prepares anyone over the age of 15 to identify persons with thoughts of suicide and connect them to suicide first aid resources. The training will be on June 12th from 5pm to 8pm at the South Park UCC Church on 2201 3rd Street with a potluck dinner. Space is limited to 30 participants. Please register at sparkucc@rushmore.com.
